Jim Peters Stadium

The Jim Peters Stadium, which was refurbished for the Paralympic Games in 2012, comprises:

  • An all-weather floodlit eight-lane track
  • Four jumping pits
  • A throwing cage
  • A fully accessible pavilion

The Jim Peters Stadium offers outdoor athletic, cycling, football and multi-sports opportunities for all abilities and ages.

Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon

This years Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon will take place Sunday 24 April 2016:

To be a part of the borough’s team this year, the budding runners will be required to take part in a team trial at the Jim Peters Stadium, Mayesbrook Park on Sunday 31 January 2016.

The trial will be over a distance of approximately three miles, and anyone finishing in the first six of their age group category will be selected to represent the borough.

The next four will then be selected as reserves for their age group category. The age categories are:

  • Under 13 boys and girls (born between 1 September 2002 and 24 April 2005);
  • Under 15 boys and girls (born between 1 September 2000 and 31 August 2002); and
  • Under 17 boys and girls (born between 1 September 1998 and 31 August 2000).

Registration for the trial will take place from 9.30am in the club house at Jim Peters Stadium, and the race will begin at 11am starting on the track and then moving into the park.

Those runners who successfully qualify for the team will have the opportunity to take part in weekly training sessions which will be arranged with local running clubs in the run up to the race which runners chosen for the team should attend.
