Active Sport4Life – Active Sport4Life aims to get inactive people fit and healthy through sport. The programme is offered free to residents of Barking and Dagenham and Thurrock (everyone must meet the programmes eligibility criteria).       

Adult Weight Management – With the support and expert guidance of our Healthy Lifestyle Coaches and just 13 group sessions, you can learn how to lose weight and keep it off for good and without expensive branded food or supplement products in sight!      

Active Junior – Active Junior are the different services and programmes that we offer for children and young people. You will find information for Schools Out – Get Active, Active 4 life and Change 4 life.

Exercise on Referral – Exercise on referral is where doctors or other health professionals can refer individuals who they feel would benefit from physical activity and help them improve their medical conditions.      

Walking for Health – The walks are a great way of making new friends and keeping fit and healthy as well as improving mental health and wellbeing. They also offer a chance to spend time in the natural environment.      

Hearty Lives – The BHF Hearty Lives programme is for Barking and Dagenham residents aged 16-plus who are at risk of developing coronary heart disease (CHD). The aim of the programme is to help individuals improve their health through physical activity, healthy eating and other positive lifestyle changes.

Inclusive Sport – The Inclusive Sports programme aims to increase the level of participation and the sporting opportunities for the disabled residents of Barking and Dagenham.     

Ageing Well – ‘Ageing Well’ is a health and well being programme for Barking and Dagenham residents aged 60 years or over. The programme offers a variety of physical activity and cultural activities and runs from a number of venues across the borough.     

Community Health Champions – Health Champions are people who, with training and support, voluntarily bring their ability to relate to people and their own life experience to transform health and well-being in their communities.

Stop Smoking – Smoking remains the single, largest preventable cause of death and disability in the UK. It kills 100,000 + people in the UK every year. With the right support you are four times more likely to quit successfully.
